When compared to other attractions, Anakeesta is one of the newer places to visit. Although, it has quickly become one of the top things to do in Gatlinburg. The Cherokee word means “place of the high ground,” and the park sits above the famous Gatlinburg Parkway. This location offers 360-degree views, while dining, shopping, entertainment, and other activities make for an unforgettable experience.

Anakeesta continues to expand, and the park’s most recent addition is BirdVenture. The area is for children and adults, so plan to visit it with the entire family. Created with the birds-eye views of Gatlinburg in mind, designers themed BirdVenture with giant birdhouses, slides, and adventure zones. Seek thrills on the mountain coaster, zipline tour, and other adventures at Anakeesta. Then, tour BirdVenture to see this gorgeous mural.

You’ll feel free as a bird while at Anakeesta! Capture that feeling with a fun photo of these wings soaring behind you. While many of the murals in the Smoky Mountains feature butterflies, this mural depicts bluebird wings. Local artist Pinkie Mistry painted this and many other murals in Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg.
